This recipe is a great alternative to the melba toast and grissini bread sticks for those who are gluten-intolerant. Thanks to Kimber at myhcgdietrecipes.blogspot.com who a developed a grissini bread stick recipe that is completely gluten-free, now everyone can enjoy one of the only approved carbs during Phase 2.

These bread sticks are delicious and our new favorite recipe while on the hcg diet!
Grissini Bread Sticks
In a bowl add the following:

-1/2 cup of warm water

-1 pkg yeast

-1 t all-natural sweetener (stevia)

-1/4 c gluten-free (GF) flour (We like Namaste perfect blend GF flour the best)

All to sit for 5 minutes

-Add 1 c (GF) flour

-1/2 c soy, quinoa, or brown rice flour

-2 Tablespoons oil

-1 teaspoon salt

Mix well and add more warm water a tablespoon at a time until it forms a dough. Allow to rise loosely covered for 1 hour. Roll into 1-2 T balls. With a little more GF flour, roll on a flat surface into rods. Transfer to a parchment covered baking sheet. Allow to rise for another 30 minutes. Bake in preheated oven of 400° for 10-20 minutes, turning once. Store in a tupperware container or ziploc bag.

  1. I made these they weren’t bad just questioning how many should you really have in a batch think mine came out to be about 10. And when I added the calories into my Lose it program receipe it came out to be 107 per stick.so I don’t know exactly how many of these you should be having. Or did I make them too large any help would be great thank. also on the baking note they were a little dry and a little hard to roll into rods any tips on that
