Sometimes you just need a break from chicken and fish when you’re on the HCG Diet. That’s where shrimp comes in. Shrimp is a great way to add variety to your protein options. If you’re looking for a tasty way to cook up shrimp for dinner, try this HCG Approved Sweet & Sour Shrimp recipe. The sauce is simple to make and completely healthy!
- 100 grams shrimp
- 1 cup water
- 1 lemon with rind
- 1 orange with rind
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 1 clove garlic crushed and minced
- 1 tablespoon Bragg’s Liquid Aminos
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- Cayenne to taste
- 1 teaspoon Trulicious Stevia
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a pan, boil the lemon and orange rinds in one cup of water for 5 minutes. Remove rinds and scrape pulp into water. Discard the rinds. Add the onion, garlic, Bragg’s, citrus zest, and spices to the pan. Once combined, addd shrimp and saute them until fully cooked.
Counts As: 1 Serving of Protein and ! Serving of Fruit.
If you’re on Phase 3 of the HCG Diet, you can try adding in bell peppers, onions, and pineapple to make this a complete meal.
